Rice research agency to launch nationwide drive on ‘responsible rice consumption’

MANILA, Philippines— The Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) is set launch a nationwide campaign in July aimed at promoting awareness on “responsible consumption of rice.”
“Traditionally we educate farmers on how to minimize wastage but this time after we found out that it’s the consumers who are at fault, the effort will be shifted to the public,” PhilRice Executive Director Eufemio Rasco Jr. told Radyo Inquirer 990AM Friday. Read more...
Watch out! High heat expected to scorch Tuguegarao, Metro Manila

Tuguegarao, Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon will again record high heat as the summer season continues to scorch the country.
In its weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Tuguegarao will register the highest temperature for the day and residents can expect to have temperature lows of 22 degrees and highs of up to 36 degrees. Read the news...
