MANILA, Philippines - There are estimated 1.4 million poor families nationwide who are considered as informal settlers, and some 70,450 of them facing eviction.

In a statement, Rep. Rafael Mariano (Party-list, Anak Pawis) urged the government to impose moratorium in demolition of squatters.
